We believe that the flexibility and innovation of digital tools should be used to encourage childhood reading.

Our mission is to enable the children to become part of the story, as heroes or heroines and main characters, in an incredible journey with their favorite characters.

These Terms and Conditions of Use ("Terms") regulate the use of any functionality of the Platform by the user, as described below. Besides these Terms, specific notices, terms, and recommendations of use for each feature made available at Playstories' site should be followed. In case of the controversy of these Terms with additional and specific terms regarding a particular functionality, the specific ones shall prevail.

By customizing or personalizing an avatar or the books available at our site, registering, purchasing, or even accessing the Platform, you agree to these Terms.

Playstories reserves the right to make minor changes to these Terms at any time, without prior notice, except when expressly required by law. We will notify you of any material changes by informing the website. Therefore, it is essential to note the date of the last update included at the beginning of the document.

Products: Initial Personalization and Avatar Customization

On our site, you will be able to choose a book and then type the name and choose the gender of who will be receiving the book. To have an interactive and entertaining experience, the user will be able to select skin color, type of hair, hair color, type of eyes, eye color, determine if the avatar should wear glasses or not, choose the kind of clothing, shoes, as well as accessories, such as a watch, necklace, cape and hat.

After the experience of personalizing the avatar, you will be able to view and page through a virtual preview of the book, where the customized character will be the main character of the script.

The book will be printed with the same characteristics, gender, and name that you see in the virtual preview. Those personalizations do not undergo any review; the system makes no changes. If the avatar has no hair, the book will arrive with an avatar without any hair. If the name is misspelled, it will enter as typed. That is true for anything, including the gender chosen. 

You are responsible for the choices you made during personalization, and upon closing the order, agree that is the way you want to receive the book. 

We employ all our efforts to print our books with colors as close as possible to those shown on our website for the preview. However, we cannot guarantee that the printed book colors will be the same as those you see on your monitor, tablet, or smartphone. 

Purchasing the Book

If the user, either a father or a mother, or even a third party, so desires, it will be possible to purchase the book to receive it printed at home.

We may review, discontinue, or modify any product or service at our site at any time without prior notice. Any product may become unavailable without prior notice. We will not be held accountable if any product or service you are looking for is not available. 

After an order is placed, you agree that we may review its content and cancel an order at any time if we believe its material infringes on any of these Terms and Conditions and our guidelines. 

Payment

You are responsible that all the information provided to place your order and to have it delivered are correct and accurate, and that the method of payment used belongs to you. 

Credit Card Payment

You can pay your purchases with any major credit card, as listed in the payment section. The credit card payment system is safe and secure; all data you type is encrypted and not stored in our database, but sent directly to the credit card company.

Keep in mind that your credit card has a spending limit determined by the credit card company. That value refers to the total, not to each installment of your purchase. Therefore, some orders may be refused if they exceed such limits, and Playstories cannot be held accountable for such refusals. 

Price and Discount Code 

The price of the books at the website may vary and change from time to time without prior notice at Playstories' sole discretion.

If you have a discount code (a voucher), you may use it at the payment screen, benefiting from the discount linked to the system used. To be eligible for the refund, the code must be valid and within the validity period.

If you have a discount code, but you do not use it at checkout, the full price will be charged. We will not make a proportional reimbursement for the discount value after payment. So, in case of any trouble, please contact us through [e-mail] before finalizing the order.  

Your order will only be confirmed after the financial institution makes payment confirmation.
After such confirmation, the delivery period starts to be considered, since that is when your order will be sent to the print shop where the book will be printed according to the chosen story and the customizations made.

Order Confirmation

No order shall be considered accepted by us until we have confirmed it by sending our order confirmation email.

The order confirmation will include a description of the item(s) purchased, the price, the address, and the estimated order delivery time.

You are responsible for contacting and notifying us in case of any error or mistake in any part of your order as soon as you notice it. If you fail to do that, the incorrect prescription will be sent to you. 

Delivery

The delivery date is an estimate. We make all possible efforts to deliver your request on time, as specified, however, we shall not guarantee the date, and there may be delivery problems that may occur within that period, thus impacting the estimated time of delivery. 

Delivery can be followed through the email that we will send with a tracking code. 

At the estimated delivery time, there should be someone at the indicated address to receive the order. If the order cannot be delivered the first time, two other times will be attempted. If still unsuccessful, the order will be returned to us.

We will send an email informing you about the return, and you will be responsible for answering it so that we can resend your order. In case there is no reply, you agree that we shall not be held accountable for the undelivered order.

When you receive the order, check to see if everything is as requested. If there is any problem, you must contact our team immediately. 

Canceling and Reimbursement

Each case will be considered on an individual basis according to these Terms and Conditions. 

Keep in mind that our books are gifts made specially for you and this process requires some time. Before finalizing your purchase, please review the character chosen so that there are no mistakes. 

We want to make sure you are happy with your book regarding its personalization. So, as long as your order has not yet begun to print, we can help you if you need us!

In case of reimbursement, as soon as we request cancellation from the credit card company, it takes one to two credit card statements to process the request and reimburse the value to your account. That period depends on the credit card company, not us since it is the credit card company that processes the request. 

Data Protection and Privacy 

The data collected and the use of such information will be protected and will always follow our Privacy Policy and applicable legislation. That policy is an essential part of these Terms and Conditions, and you must read it.

Copyrights and Licensing

Each person or user, or any consumer registered at our site, has a non-exclusive, limited, and irrevocable authorization to use the Characters, Contents, and Work only to the extent necessary. Within the scope of personalization of the item(s) of the Publication(s) that will be purchased and, individually, during the time that such consumers fulfill the terms and conditions for accessing the site.

Nothing in these Terms, our site, or connection of purchase of the Publications in our website shall be construed as an assignment of any rights or privileges related to the Characters, Content, and Work.

Playstories are exclusively responsible for licensing, printing, marketing, and distributing the Publications.

Nothing related to the use of your name or in the name of the third party under your responsibility and safekeeping, as well as nothing compared to the creation of a character containing visual characteristics similar to yours or optical characteristics identical to the third party under your responsibility and safekeeping, shall lead to an understanding that, upon personalization of the Publication, work and a character is created based on the image of a third party.

Assessments, Comments, Communications, and Other Contents

You hereby agree that we have the freedom and unlimited full rights to use any comments, information, ideas, concepts, opinions, techniques or any other material contained in any communication sent by you to us ("Feedback"), including answers to questionnaires through the service, without compensation, acknowledgment or payment to you for any reason, including, but not limited to, development, manufacturing, and marketing of products and creation, modification or improvement. You also agree not to claim any "moral rights" related to the Feedback, to the extent permitted by law.
